History

Mustang offers one of the broadest lines of compact equipment available on the market today. With a world-wide distribution network providing high-quality sales, service, and rental, the Mustang brand has the equipment and service to keep your operation on track.

Known in the early years as Owatonna Manufacturing Company, Mustang was among the first manufacturers to offer
the skid steer in 1965. Today, the skid steer loader is complimented with track loaders, articulated loaders, and compact excavators.

A state-of-the-art research and design facility gives Mustang's top corps of engineers the tools needed to design - and deliver - equipment that fulfills the needs of our customers. Two manufacturing facilities, located in Madison and Yankton, South Dakota, are equipped with the finest in manufacturing technology. This ensures that when you purchase a Mustang, it comes standard with quality, performance and safety. And we are proud to manufacture our loader equipment in the USA!

A comprehensive network provides sales and service. This ensures that when you need parts and service, your dealer is using manufacturer approved XPRT Genuine parts and factory-trained technicians.

Manufacturing

With manufacturing facilities in Yankton and Madison, South Dakota, Mustang ensures that these plants are always equipped with the finest in technology, tools and materials. This allows Mustang to deliver only the highest-quality machines and service parts for the compact equipment market.

In order to ensure that each piece of Mustang equipment is made with precision, the highly-trained manufacturing staff works with hydraulic brakes, folders, robotic welders and laser cutters. This state-of-the-art technology promotes consistency and accuracy.

Before any machine leaves the facility, it must pass a rigorous Pre-Delivery Inspection, or PDI. This is to ensure that when you receive your equipment from a trusted Mustang dealer, it is ready to go to work.

And since we know that Mustang equipment will quickly become your primary workhorse, we make sure that when you need parts and service, you don't have to wait long. With a state-of-the-art parts distribution center in Belvidere, Illinois, the Mustang product line is well supported.

R&D

In order to develop high-quality equipment that is relevant to the marketplace, Mustang has developed a talented corp of engineers and a state-of-the-art Research and Design (R&D) facility. Located in West Bend, Wisconsin, the R&D facility makes it possible to conduct durability, safety and sound testing year-round.

Engineers located in each of Mustang's manufacturing facilities ensure that each unit is built to the same standard. Mustang's pledge is to provide equipment that is modern in design, without being too complicated to maintain or service. This major investment in research and design explains why Mustang skid steer loaders, track loaders, excavators, and articulated loaders are so sought after. When our customers, like you, tell us they need something to make their businesses run smoothly, we can react quickly to bring it to the market.
